Design and Engineering
Gillebert Parts as an experienced guide on your journey from idea to product
Every day we help companies to convert the most diverse ideas into products. Our engineers are true top specialists in both design and material selection.
Start Up
From idea to product
The first step is an iterative process in which we aim for an optimal solution in terms of technical requirements. The customer starts with his problem statement from which we determine the best material choice for his part. It is important to start with the material choice because this will narrow down the possibilities in different production techniques. Once the material and production technique are known, we adapt the initial design to these parameters. This first iteration gives us an initial solution that is evaluated by comparing it to the problem statement. In most cases, the proposed solution meets all the requirements and we proceed to the sample phase. However, sometimes it is necessary to do a second iteration before reaching the optimal solution.
Steady State
From sample to serial production
If the customer is satisfied with the technical proposition, we make an offer in which start-up cost, cost for the serial production, delivery time and conditions are mentioned in clear terms.
Upon agreement, samples are made and delivered to the customer within the best possible delay. Serial production will be started after the formal written customer approval of the samples. It is of course possible to make small adaptations between the sample phase and the serial production. For major changes in design, material or production technique, it is strongly recommended to go back to the startup stage.
After a first serial production, the parts can be reordered without sampling phase. In some cases, the customer requests small modifications in design or machining. For such small adaptations, it is not necessary to go back to the startup stage of the product but we will make samples to ensure that the serial delivery will match exactly what the customer had in mind.
